NIBI, an Imagined NVIDIA AI Companion
An imagined NVIDIA-inspired AI companion with a Shiba Inu mascot explores what a more approachable digital assistant could look like.

A friendlier face for artificial intelligence
NIBI is an AI companion with the appearance of an orange Shiba Inu. Its green eyes and circuit-patterned collar give a familiar animal silhouette a distinctly technological identity. The idea is simple: instead of approaching artificial intelligence as a blank chat window, people would encounter a recognizable character.
The concept imagines an assistant that could help someone organize a busy day, work through a difficult question or shape an unfinished creative idea.
A companion, not an authority
The most important part of the imagined design is not its mascot. It is how NIBI would behave when it does not know something. A useful companion would acknowledge uncertainty, distinguish suggestions from facts and ask before taking consequential actions.
For a student, that might mean helping break a complex topic into smaller questions rather than supplying an answer to copy. For a creator, it might mean exploring several directions without claiming ownership of the final decision. For someone planning a day, it might mean proposing a schedule while leaving the person in control.
What the concept would need to get right
Giving an AI a friendly face could make it easier to approach, but it could also make people trust it too quickly.
The assistant would ask permission before accessing personal material and explain what an action would do before carrying it out. Its personality would make conversation more comfortable without obscuring the fact that it is software capable of making mistakes.
